The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a 700 hour Law Enforcement Academy beginning August 20, 2015.  The Academy will be held at the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office located at 240 North Main Mt. Vernon, Missouri 65712.

The Academy is sponsored by the Missouri Sheriff's Association.  Cost of the academy is just over $4,000.00 and meets Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturdays and some Sundays from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Graduates of the 10 month academy will receive a class A Peace Officers License as well as multiple certifications in various areas of law enforcement.

Veteran's benefits and financial aid are available.  Graduates can also receive 30 college credit hours.
