Sheriff's Office Adds New CCW Equipment

09/19/2014

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office has now obtained a fingerprint scanner specifically for CCW applicants.  This equipment is the last piece needed in order for CCW applicants to be taken care of with out waiting at the Sheriff's Office in the Judicial Center.

Previously, applicants had to come to the Sheriff's Office by appointment for the application process and then schedule a time to go to the jail for fingerprinting.  This unfortunately caused delays because of staffing at the jail that may require waits up to 3-4 hours.

With this new device, applicants can be fingerprinted in the admin office without waiting and without the need for making an appointment.

Persons may apply for a CCW permit Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  The office will be closed from 12:00 until 1:00 for lunch.
