Sheriff's Office to Host Law Enforcement Academy


The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a Law Enforcement Academy beginning August 28, 2014.  This academy will be sponsored by the Missouri Sheriff's Association and will be held on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The academy is approximately 10 months and offers 700 hours of training for a class A Peace Officers License in the State of Missouri.  Those interested in attending the academy can access the application paperwork from the Missouri Sheriff's Association website at

Financial aid is available through Missouri State University for those who qualify.
