In a combined effort with Jasper County the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office received a grant for five mobile data terminals to be placed in patrol cars.  These terminals will allow deputies to run vehicle and persons checks from their cars.  Future upgrades will also allow deputies to do incident reports from cars.  This will save valuable time for officers having to return to the office to do reports.
