The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office announces that it has received grants totaling over $17,000.00 from the Missouri Department of Transportation/Highway Safety Division for the Fiscal Year 2017.

The awarded grants will provide overtime pay for deputies to work DWI enforcements, Hazardous Moving Violation enforcements as well as other special enforcement details for the coming year.

MODOT and Highway Safety award grants to applicants to provide overtime and equipment for agencies as they continue to fight the growing issue of intoxicated and distracted drivers.  Deputies will be out at various times of the year doing enforcements as well as participate in state and national campaigns.
