Sheriff's Office to Host Basic Law Enforcement Academy

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office will be hosting a 700 hour basic law enforcement academy starting August 18th, 2016.  The academy will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Saturday's and Sundays' 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

 

Persons who graduate from the 700 hour academy will graduate with a class "A" peace officer license; PPCT Defensive Tactics Certification; Taser Certification; OC/Pepper Spray Certification; First Responder Certification; NHTSA SFST Certification; Court Security Training; Less Lethal Munitions Certification and 120 hour Jail Officer Training.

 

Cost for the academy is $4,000.00.  Veteran's benefits, financial aid and college credit hours are available for those who qualify.
