On Wednesday August 12, 2015 acting on tips, deputies seized approximately 3010 marijuana plants southwest of Mt. Vernon.  The plants were in various stages of growing some as tall at 10'. 

Some plants were cultivated and some were considered "ditch weed" plants.  If fully cultivated, the street value of the marijuana plants could total almost 2.5 million dollars.

Investigation as to the "owner" of the marijuana is ongoing.  No one was taken into custody at the time of the seizure.
