Lawrence County Emergency Management is going forward with a storm shelter registration database in light of recent events in Oklahoma City.
Citizens may obtain a registration form by going to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office website at www.lawrencecosheriff.com or by contacting Emergency Management Director Chet Hunter at 417-737-3041. Forms will soon be available at local city halls as well.
Citizens can also download the form from the Sheriff's Office website and fill it out and then email, fax, or regular mail the form back to the Sheriff's Office where it will be given to Emergency Management.
The intent of the database is to provide a quicker response in the event of a tornado or other natural disaster to aid emergency responders in locating victims of those disasters.
