Cattle Rustlers Strike Again

01/23/2013

Cattle Rustlers have struck Lawrence County Farmers again.  During the overnight hours of Tuesday January 22 8 calves were taken from the Scott Welch Farm in Lawrence County.

Thieves cut fences and gates through four fields to gain access to the cattle.  Taken were the following:

1 gray heifer with a large cyst on the underside

2 black banded bulls

2 white heifers

3 black heifers

Each weighing between 500 lbs and  750 lbs.  All are a Angus/Charolais mix breed.

The Sheriff's Office is again asking for assistance in locating the rustlers and encourages citizens to call in all suspicious activity day or night around cattle areas.
