K-9 Magnum to retire

03/16/2011

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office is announcing the retirement of K-9 Magnum.  Magnum has served the Sheriff's Office and citizens of Lawrence County since 2006.  Magnum has assisted in tracking fugitives, located lost children and adults, and has been instrumental in located many types of narcotics.

For a short time the Sheriff's Office will be without K-9 services.  However, it is a goal of the Sheriff to implement a new K-9 as soon as funding and resources are available.  The retirement is due in part to some recent health issues that Magnum is experiencing.  The hard work that Magnum has provided for the county will not go unforgotten.  Magnum's last offical day of work will be April 1, 2011.
