Deputy makes traffic stop and discovers drugs and a gun

On 11-10-10 a Lawrence County Deputy while patrolling stopped a vehicle for traffic offenses.  The driver information was ran and the driver of the vehicle had two active warrants.  While conducting the traffic stop, the deputy became suspicious of the subjects activity and asked for and received consent to search the vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle the deputy located a quantity of marijuana in the vehicle and a handgun.  The suspect was transported to the Lawrence County Jail on the two active warrants and is awaiting formal charges for drug possession and possession of a firearm by a felon.
